Bill Sullivan’s Turnstile Photography Project
Paulo woke up this morning ready to start a new day. He took a quick shower and put on some dress clothes. It was an important day because Paulo had to meet The Don at a local pizzeria. After he had put on some clothes he slicked back his hair and combed his mustache to even it out. Paulo hurried down the stairs of his apartment complex thinking if he should take the subway or get a cab. When he got outside he saw his favorite hotdog stand on the corner of the street, “Mamma Mia!!” Paulo exclaimed to himself out of sheer excitement. Paulo got a dog and waved his hand out for a taxi. After some small talk with the taxi driver Paulo learned that the driver was a Yankees fan, and if there was one thing in this world Paulo couldn’t stand, it was a Yankees fan. He ordered the driver to stop the car and Paulo got out immediately. Paulo looked around and saw a liquor store. He came out with a newspaper and looked at the lotto numbers, he grabbed the tickets he got the other night and was disappointed to find out he won nothing. Paulo walked the rest of the way to Fat Toni’s pizzeria where he was supposed to meet the don. When he came to the counter and saw Fat Toni, he asked Paulo to follow him in the freezer and opened a secret door on the other end of the room. This door was the opening to another large room where he saw a table and a piece of paper. Paulo cautiously walked to the table and opened the piece of paper it read “Dear Paulo, sorry to break the news to you but the Don got busted the other night by some inside man named Alfonso you know the guy with the weird British accent but yeah better get back to your place and pack up you stuff and get out of town”, Sincerely Louie. Paulo got out of the pizzeria as fast as possible and headed to the subway station with the newspaper still in hand with the cover story titled “Mob Boss for 40 years arrested last night, inside man to receive medal from the mayor”.
